2nd edition of BALI Afro-Latin Dance Holidays, February 2018
BALI Afro-Latin Dance Holidays says THANK YOU SO MUCH to our participants from all over the world who joined for this 2nd retreat of 6 days and 6 nights of Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba dancing in Ubud!

Participants from all corners of the globe
Our participants from Europe, North America and Australia joined progressive Afro-Latin dance workshops with our talented and fun local teachers. Agung, Nia, Dewa and GungIs taught Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba workshops. Our special guests, Kizomba superstars Isabelle and Felicien from Paris, were the icing on the cake of our last 2 days with 6hrs of Kizomba master classes!
Balinese dance and culture
On our beach day in Uluwatu dancers got the opportunity to take part in an authentic Balinese dance lesson with Dewa and GungIs. They did an excellent job learning how to get dressed in the traditional Balinese clothing and how to dance “Tari Pendet”, a traditional Balinese welcome dance. They all agreed: Balinese Dance is difficult!
Visiting a Kecak dance performance at Uluwatu temple in front of an unforgettable sunset was part of this day dedicated to Balinese culture.
Excursions to Ubud centre and an authentic Melukat (traditional water cleansing ceremony) at a local spring were part of the exploration of daily life on Bali off the beaten tourist tracks.
Social dance nights
Even after many hours of workshops every day, our dancers could not get enough. In the evenings they had the chance to practice their newly acquired skills at daily social dance nights in varying locations around Ubud. The Ubud Salsa community happily joined the social dance nights and made those evenings fun and unforgettable.
We had a blast with all of you guys and the fantastic crew of Ubud Studio: teachers, students and helpers. We hope to welcome you again to the next edition of BALI Afro-Latin dance camp in October 2018!
